I CAN VISIT YOUR GROUP OR GUILD
to teach the following one-day workshops. THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC finished projects on my workshops as I prefer to teach methods and techniques so that students can build up an 'ideas' file of samples for future reference and inspiration. HOWEVER - most workshops can be extended to two or even three days, with a short design period included to decide on a personal project using some of the techniques learned. All stitching is by machine.

I can also tailor workshops to your requirements depending on what techniques your group would like to learn.

TEXTURE & THREAD TECHNIQUES
Stitch, manipulate, quilt and texture plain fabric with the
sewing machine and a mixture of threads to make embellishments
or new fabric for your quilts.

MACHINE STITCHING ON SOLUBLE FABRICS
Try out several kinds of dissolvable/disappearing fabrics and
create unusual effects with a variety of techniques

MASTERING MACHINE APPLIQUE
Using satin stitch and other decorative machine stitches, learn
how to get corners, points and curves right - and then try
experimental applique

TWIN NEEDLE MAGIC
If you don't know what your twin needle is for - then this
workshop is an eye-opener! You will learn lots of exciting
ways to use these needles to make magical effects

EXPLORING STRIP PATCHWORK
Strip patchwork has endless and exciting possibilities. This
workshop shows you how to explore these possibilities

HOT STUFF!
A day spent 'playing' with sheers, felt, Lutradur, Tyvek, etc.- -
not to mention heat guns, soldering irons and a bit of stitch!
Great fun!

FLOWER POWER
Using plants and flowers as inspiration we will look at
different ways of interpreting these in fabric and stitch. This is a
techniques workshop and you will go home with lots of samples.

FEE for one-day workshop (10am to 4pm) £210 PLUS TRAVEL
@ 45p per mile

TALKS/SLIDE PRESENTATIONS

I have decided not to offer evening talks in the future - one reason being that driving to the venue in the rush hour is becoming increasingly stressful. Depending on the length of the journey I may do a talk if it is followed by a workshop the next day and I am offered overnight accommodation.
