I CAN VISIT YOUR GROUP OR GUILD to teach the following one-day workshops. THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC finished projects on my workshops as I prefer to teach methods and techniques so that students can build up an 'ideas' file of samples for future reference and inspiration. HOWEVER - most workshops can be extended to two or even three days, with a short design period included to decide on a personal project using some of the techniques learned. All stitching is by machine.
TEXTURE & THREAD TECHNIQUES
Stitch, manipulate, quilt and texture plain fabric with the
sewing machine and a mixture of threads to make embellishments
or new fabric for your quilts.
MACHINE STITCHING ON SOLUBLE FABRICS
Try out several kinds of dissolvable/disappearing fabrics and
create unusual effects with a variety of techniques
MASTERING MACHINE APPLIQUE
Using satin stitch and other decorative machine stitches, learn
how to get corners, points and curves right - and then try
experimental applique
TWIN NEEDLE MAGIC
If you don't know what your twin needle is for - then this
workshop is an eye-opener! You will learn lots of exciting
ways to use these needles to make magical effects
TASSELS, FRINGES, BOBBLES AND BRAIDS
Use your sewing machine and a variety of thick and thin
threads to make unusual embellishments for your quilts and
embroideries
ALL THAT GLITTERS
A messy/fun day using Bronze Powders, Angelina, Bondaweb,foil
and metallic thread - and some machine sewing
EXPLORING STRIP PATCHWORK
Strip patchwork has endless and exciting possibilities. This
workshop shows you how to explore these possibilities
HOT STUFF!
A day spent 'playing' with sheers, felt, Lutradur, Tyvek and
shrinking plastic - not to mention heat guns, soldering irons
and a bit of stitch! Great fun!
FLOWER POWER
Using plants and flowers as inspiration we will look at
different ways of interpreting these in fabric and stitch
FEE for one-day workshop (10am to 4pm) £150 PLUS TRAVEL
@ 40p per mile
